A Dra. Tia Powell é psiquiatra e diretora de Bioética no Centro Médico-Acadêmico Montefiore, da Faculdade de Medicina Albert Einstein/Nova York, onde também é diretora do programa de Mestrado em Bioética e professora de Epidemiologia e Psiquiatria.Possui experiência bioética em políticas públicas, demência, pandemias, cuidados paliativos, tomada de decisões médicas em situações críticas, doenças terminais, educação em bioética e ética dos desastres em saúde pública. Por quatro anos foi diretora executiva da comissão governamental de bioética New York State Task Force on Life and the Law. Ela também trabalhou em conjunto à Academia Nacional de Medicina dos Estados Unidos em muitos projetos ligados à saúde pública e desastres e, recentemente, participou do relatório de 2017 sobre abordagens comunitárias para enfrentar as desigualdades na saúde. |
