Since turning twelve, Victory hardly recognizes his life anymore. Old friends since kindergarten have deserted him for new ones in middle school. He's too bored to sit still and concentrate, but when he tries to outrun his restlessness, his body feels sluggish and clumsy. His brain's all haywire, too, stubbornly doubting every truth he's learned to trust. His busy family ignores him more than ever, and he yearns to understand his true purpose in the universe. He thinks maybe he'd like to help people. Could he even be somebody's hero? But whose? And how? He wishes he could travel out beyond the stars to The Blue Somewhere, a friendly, less confusing place where he's sure to find adventure and answers to all his questions. Then one day at school, a kid knocks Victory flat on the concrete walkway. After struggling to his feet, he finds himself alone with strangers in an odd new world. Now, light years away from Earth's sensible physical laws and age-old beliefs, Victory must grapple with challenges more wrenching than any he's ever imagined.
