Sophie Hannah, poeta e romancista britânica, tem sua obra publicada em 27 países. Uma de suas coletâneas de poemas foi escolhida pela Poetry Book Society como uma das obras de referência da nova geração de poetas britânicos. Autora de livros infantis, contos e romances, Hannah é apaixonada pelos livros policiais desde os 13 anos e foi inspirada por Hercule Poirot e Miss Marple, personagens de Agatha Christie com profundo conhecimento da mente humana. Recebeu indicação para o prêmio TS Eliot (2007) por uma de suas coletâneas de poesia e foi vencedora do primeiro Festival de Contos Daphne Maurier por sua história de suspense psicológico The Octupus Nest.
