Brontë, Emily
EMILY JANE BRONTË (1818-1848) nasceu em Thornton, em Yorkshire. Dois anos depois, seu pai, Patrick Brontë, foi designado para trabalhar em Haworth, perto de Bradford. Após a morte da mãe em 1821, os irmãos formaram uma espécie de sociedade secreta na infância, e juntos escreviam histórias de fadas, poemas, peças de teatro e chegaram até a criar uma revista mensal. Emily é conhecida por seu único romance, O morro dos ventos uivantes, de 1847, que foi publicado sob o pseudônimo de Ellis Bell um ano antes de sua morte por tuberculose. |
